If you guys forgot about this, its this coming friday as in JUNE 6th. I am going and will be racing....who else is going and do we want to meet up somewhere?
I'm in the overall competition and will be getting started Thursday, but of course will be doing Friday as well. I am in Golden/Lakewood on business, so I'm really close to both events.
So I registered for both the CSP and Drag event but never got my car tech'd. I'm really confused on how it all works and tomorrow morning is when it starts! Don't have a clue how to get to the new track, if I need anything when I get there because I paid on Boostbuddy.com. Can anyone chime in and help me out a bit? Thanks!
I wasn't in town to get tech'd either, so I'm going to get it done tomorrow morning at CSP. Bandi tech can be done at Bandi on Friday, too.
Put this into Google Maps or whatever you prefer for mapping tools:
39.741080, -105.184300
Right there where Quaker street dead ends is the entrance to the track. It's very easy to get there from 470/70.
Thanks I'm gonna put this in right now, is there anything we need to bring to the track for anyone to know we're participating? I didn't get anything, just an order number.
Well, they handed out the credentials tonight, but I wasn't able to make that either, so we will probably get our stuff at the track in the morning. Bring your order number as proof, then you should get all your swag...
I'm very glad to see another Evo participating in the all-around competition. Kudos.
Ok hopefully thats all I need! But this is my first time ever racing on a road course. So clearly I'm probably not going to receive many points for the overall competition but I'll do my best, and definitely just have fun! Any pointers? I know you've raced quite a bit
Eek, not so good doing a competitive time trial with 0 experience on track. Definitely find me in the morning during the test'n'tune open track portion so I can work with you. If I have time to dial in my car and learn the course, I may ride with you to help sort of like an instructor. It's not advisable to be "racing" for timed laps until after year or two of experience, so we'll have to be safe about it.
Best advice I can give you as a newbie on the track is to NOT get red mist and do NOT keep your foot on the gas pedal 100% through the track. Don't ask me how I know...

Adrenaline causes red mist... It's a condition where you have tunnel vision and become clueless to everything around you. It's serious and can cause serious injury, death or destruction.
All I ask as someone new on the track is to ASK questions, LISTEN to advice, learn the correct lines and know when your adrenaline is starting to overcome rational thinking....
