I just don't have that much interest in the local autox, because there's nothing to win. The difference in excitement between a local event and National event is beyond comparison. At National events, it REALLY counts, and you can win money/contingencies plus get recognized on the website and in the magazine. Not that I couldn't continue to improve my skill through seat time in local events, but I just don't enjoy it enough to use up my "free time" away from the family. I get very little free time due to my wife working full time, so until that changes, I have to pick and choose my race events very carefully.

The Rocky Mountain Shootout was perfect, because I already had to be in Golden all week for work, and the events were during work days, so it didn't affect my wife like a weekend would. I got to showcase the Warr Evo on both the road course and drag strip where I have the most fun. Spending all day to race for only 4 total minutes has gotten old unfortunately. I got lots of time on track Thursday and about 30 passes at Bandi today, both of which went towards a championship which I am likely to win. I can't do enough RMSOLO events to qualify for season standings, so there's really no use.

We did very, very well considering we both hit 11s on a stock or stock-style turbo while the guys we were going up against had GT35Rs. In fact, the STi that won the Subie vs Mitsu part of the event got almost a free pass due to both me and Corey being bumped to Quick 8. We were basically #7 and #8, and he was right behind us with 12.0s all day. Our 11s got us up in the fast group, but hey, it feels good to rip up GT35R cars most of the day.

Overall this event was a great experience. I learned a lot this week. My best run was a 12.6 granny shifting 2nd and 4th since my clutch is smoked! But I'm getting a new clutch here very soon and will work my way to 11's! Not many Evo's showed up but the ones that did brought some heat and did very well! Good job to everyone that participated and hopefully next year we can have more come out.

When I left I should have checked my gas gauge it was super low.. I had to draft an 18 wheeler all the way to castle rock and made it the with 1/2 of a gallon left.

If you were trapping 114 with all that crap going on, then you will definitely top 120 when it gets locked in. I wouldn't be discouraged, but rather encouraged. If you stick with it, we can help you become a beast.
