I like my VIII better as well. I thought it was going to have more ponys then that. The looks are not worth the wieght and the low power. Neither is the price. I am loving my VIII right now.

Lucas... what would 232whp/256wtq on a mustang dyno translate to on your dyno? I know there are many variables, just looking for an estimate. Your dyno is the only one I've really been on a couple times and seen a few other Evos on to compare numbers.

Hold on, guys, you're getting a little carried away with these number comparisons.

First of all, NO ONE can compare numbers at this altitude with anywhere near sea level. None of the numbers we get at this altitude are correct, because they are corrected for altitude, which is a very inexact science. We only use them to compare against other cars at this altitude, so you can't just look at these raw numbers and make direct comparisons.

Also, no, Mustangs don't randomly read higher than DD's. Mustangs and DD's both are the lowest reading dynos out there, but the problem is that there are some Mustangs out there that have been calibrated to read more like a Dynojet to please customers. I don't believe that's the case with the Vivid dyno. As a better comparison point, Stock IXs dyno around 215-220 whp/wtq on the Buschur Mustang dyno, which means 232/256 is pretty damn good, though not astounding. We didn't expect it to make much more than the IX anyway, and the IX makes crazy power for a stock car.

I'll keep my IX......and VIII. I still don't like the look very much. It may grow on me...but I am not sure. I wonder what the $$ will be on the car.

Yeah I dont like the look of the new ones either and Warr u are correct...But it just seemed a little bit low for it, I was excepting way way more.
But O well...IM not getting one. so its okay. Just means part prices are gonna go down for our cars.

I might get one as a DD and relegate the VIII to race duty. There won't be many mods for a while, which is fine with me. I'd really just want to do a tune anyway if and when that becomes possible. Keep stock sound and appearance with another 40-50whp through tuning (boost, afr, timing), and I'd be happy.
