I understand the functionality... But I just don't like the look of a ski rack on any coupe/sedan. SUV's, ok, maybe. But on Evo's/STi's I really chuckle a little inside everytime I see one.

Hey! that happens to be my car. And yea...its got the ski rack. I agree its not the most aesthetically pleasing thing, but when you go skiing as often as I do, it just makes life easier.

I GUESS it would make boarding a little easier to have a rack when I go up. But... naw... I have to look pretty all the time! I usually wash my car twice on the way up to keep her lookin shiny.

Haha I totally gave up washing the car before ski trips... it is just no worth it. Plus these cars are made to be driven in the worst weather conditions, and that is probably when I have the most fun! The benefit of the rack is that I can bring three friends up to the mountains as well with all our gear. If anyone decides to get a rack, I highly recommend yakima's newer slim fat series...ohh and make damn sure to get the fairing. Ive been up to 120-130 with the rack and no problems...doesnt even whistle.

nope, the rack I have uses the "q-clips" that just hug the door frame. I would never drill into the roof...imagine the rust that could cause down the line. Whole thing can be taken off in under 30 seconds with two people and doesn't leave a trace.
