Hello Everybody!

Hey everybody, I am a new EvoIX owner as of about a month ago and just discovered this board. Great stuff, really like what I'm reading over here, definitely a bit more, how shall I put it, adult? Anyway, I need to find the loudest blow off valve... just kidding!

Edit: yanked some fluff about my car and searching for info. ... nuff said.

Haha, yeah, figured some of the regulars would chuckle at that blow off valve comment. That and my title (simpson ref) should give a clue that I like to joke a bit.

Welcome, we're glad to have you! Where in CO are you?

PS. I changed your club region to Rocky Mountain, since you're in CO. You had it set as Southwest.

Hey, thx guys, glad to be here. Great board.

JTizzle - LOVE the WW! It's what convinced me to buy an EVOIX.

Thx Warrtalon - I guess my old board just had everyone lumped into SW so I didn't notice the Rocky Mountain Region. I live in Lakewood.

So do you guys ever organize a pure EVO only track day at PMI or Golden or something like that? I saw there was a NASA event at PMI this past weekend, wish I could have made that. Can't wait to get the Evo out on the track

We've only just recently begun the RMEVO club, so we haven't done anything like that yet, but we did start out with a nice, big meet and greet a few weekends ago. I don't think there's enough Evos in the area to rent a whole track yet (several thousand bucks), but we could definitely do a join rental with Subarus or other message boards in the area.

Does Golden have a track of some sort? All I know of is Bandimere in Denver, then PMI in Pueblo.

Yeah, great idea, hadn't thought about the limited number of Evo's around, so getting some Subi's involved would be cool. Plus it would be fun to run against them.

The track in Golden is the State Trooper testing grounds. Here’s a link:
http://www.state.co.us/gov_dir/cdps/academy/actrack.htm

They rent it out to a few clubs, such at the 350z group I use to be in. I went to the event they had last July, not bad, pretty fun. The only thing is that it isn’t really a track since it’s for training, and the surface is a bit beveled to the outside from the center, more like a normal street (aka, not flat like PMI for example). Still a lot of fun, plus it’s like 10 minutes from my house.

The z club doesn’t have enough people to fill the rental either so they always open it up to other drivers. I’ll keep an eye on the local Z board for postings and post over here if they announce anything. Of course, they can be a bit funky about who they let join them - they had a PMI day a couple weekends ago and wouldn't let me bring out my evo!

I also heard from another a friend that owns a MR that there is going to be an open track day at Golden, I think next month. So I’ll post about that one too once I hear the details.

Man, so glad Winter is pretty much over and some track days aren’t too far off.

Jackass?

Well if you must know, it was the combo of the WW and my buddy who owns an MR. It was HIS opinion that convinced me. Something about a guy that is laid back, races SCCA and has actually taken his MR on a track a few times that really earned some points with me. Plus it was nice to see an adult with an EVO versus you sanyon a 20 year old 'punk kid' that likes to boast about going 130+ on 6th Ave, which is flat out f@cking stupid.

Oh, and I was a punk kid with a fast car when I was 20 too, weren't we all? Just saying I'd rather take my opinion from someone with some track cred. nuff said.

Nice well I guess im just another punk kid ey? Glad to hear your true opinion about some owners, even without getting to know them! I might be a youngin, but don't start judging...

Who is the SCCA racer who owns an MR?

I was disappointingly the only Evo at this last weekend's NASA track event despite over 100 entries. There were 3 350Zs, 5+ Subarus, 5+ Vettes, 10+ Porsches, etc etc. Not sure where all the Evos are!
