Locals with a FP Green, 30r, or 3065

I was wondering if there is anyone in the Denver Area with either of the turbo's listed above. I am debating on what turbo to get for my evo since I am going to be selling my R1. I was wondering if it would be possible for a ride in your car and your general opinions/impressions of your current turbo if you have one of these.

I know people are getting decent numbers out of the Evo IX turbos but just curious on how the others perform at our altitude.

Thanks,

Eddy

JohnEB had the AMS 30R (3076) on ECU flash and stock bottom end and that thing was a beast. Spool obviously suffered due to the size of the blower and the high altitude but he easily pulled on my 50 trim with built head.

Though it's not on your list, I have a 3071R on my ride and I LOVE it. I wouldn't mind taking you for a spin at the meet this sunday if you're interested in seeing what that does.

I want a ride.

All depends on how much lag you want to deal with. IMO

Its hard to have both high hp and quick spooling turbo, especially here in CO. IMO Lag is over rated though so it is not a huge deal, but I don't want to hit full boost at 6k either. I had a SCM6152e on my eclipse with fp2 cams. It pulled nicely at 22psi, didn't get a chance to up the boost cause it was stolen. I do plan on going the meet on Sunday, so would be nice talking to you all regarding your turbo's.

Eddy

Buschur has the new HTA 3076 kits out now too, so I am considering that or the 3065. I heard they are making it into a HTA housing also though. How well do the greens do at this altitude?

I have a BB 3076R w/272 cams and as long as you're in the right gear there's minimal lag. I can give you a ride too if you're at the meet this weekend.

An FP green would be awesome up here. Stock Evo 9's with the right bolt ons are making well north of 350hp up here with torque equal or higher. An FP would more than likely put you close to 400.

A ride you shall have

I really don't find lag to be a problem, even from a stop (gotta love that 2 step though). I believe I'm hitting full spool around 5 grand or so.

Lol, The drivers here in CO suck and the way I look at it I can at least be safer and go fast in the evo. I am having second thoughts though since the r1 is paid off.

Evo stock 9 turbos, like whats on my 8 are putting down 390hp and 385 tor. on E85
The green is putting down around 430/430 to the wheels up here with great spoolup.

The HTA3076 is looking like a great setup if you dont go for a 35.

Your 3071 is fully spooled at 5 grand? My 35 is fully spooled just a tad bit before that so I'd say yours spools even faster than that.

I have a 35R and love it. Yes, I do get out-spooled if I'm at a dead stop and don't launch but how often is it that you race from a dead stop at lower rpms? Typically you're at higher rpm or already building boost (at least that's the way it works out for me usually). Let me just put it this way, regardless... I love my car more than ever since I've went to a bigger turbo. Daily driving is flawless, simply because I'm not always in boost (same for highway), gas isn't such a pain because I don't boost as much as I did on the stock turbo, and last but not least... The intensity of the G's sucking you back to your seat FTMFW!!!

My reason for not wanting to go with a 35r is that I don't plan on running over 30 psi of boost where the 35r shines.

Yes if you ever get a taste of race gas over 30 psi you will I have had stock turbo ix, ams 3076 (30r), standard 35r, and now a hta 35r with a stroker, cosi head ect... Even at this power level it isn't very often I get jumped very far at all.

John I want to build my motor next season but for now I'm on the 35R with a stock motor. I think I need a little motivation or inspiration to build my motor if ya know what I mean I wanna feel what power our cars are capable of!

I've been meaning to ask you how your car was running! What's so sucky about it? I thought the FP Green would be sick. I wanted it before I decided to get the setup I have now.
