Question My '5280 wish list

What's up guys it was nice seeing/meeting you guys at D&B back on the 5th!

Been thinking about adding some goodies and was wanting to get some feedback...

Current Mods:
HKS 272s
INVIDIA TBE
WALBRO 255
HALLMAN MBC
APS CAI
APS BOV
CUSTOM DYNOFLASHED

With this setup I was able to get 330hp 354tq on Mac's Dynojet on 91 pump corrected on my stock 9.8 running 24 psi. Strip-wise with this setup I put down a measly 13.8 @ 105.XX with a horrible 2.2 '60 while babying the hell outta the stock clutch. Hopefully, on the 3rd I can get closer to the low 13s. Anyways...

ON DECK:
Buschur 20G-LT
880 maybe 1000 injectors
Buschur Exhaust Manifold (Ported and Jet Coated)
Buschur Ported and Jet Coated 02 Housing
Buschur LICP
ACT HDSS
ACT Prolite Flywheel

MAYBE'S:
Buschur FMIC (I'm not sure if this is needed running the 20G-LT)

TUNING:
Cobb Access Port (If they ever release it!)
E85 map
91 map
Race gas map

I'm hoping to get into the low 400s in both hp and tq up here w/ the E85 and race gas maps ... ... Let me know what you think!

TIA ,
Chris.

105.xx is not measly at all for those mods, but the time is obviously crappy. I'm only trapping 108-109 but I'm hitting 12.3-12.4s. 105 is plenty for 12s, but you can't hold back on the launch and shifting.

As far as planned mods:
- Do not get the BR ported/coated o2 housing, because that's the old thing we used to with the stocker. Now, the best practice is to go with the SS o2 housing (coated or uncoated is fine), which BR also sells and recommends
- I would definitely recommend an FMIC upgrade with the 20g-LT, especially at this altitude where our FMICs are less efficient than normal
- Not a fan of the ACT HDSS - hated mine - but I'm in the minority
- No CobbAP and don't really need it anyway, although it WOULD be a great tool. Just use EcuFlash and have Justin provide you with 3 custom tunes - one for each fuel. E85 is race gas level, so I don't think you'll need a separate race gas tune.
- The E85 will require big injectors as you have planned, but when you're on 91 and race gas, you're going to have WAYYYY too much injector for that turbo, so keep that in mind...it could be a tuning hassle

Thanks for the response Clay, and sorry for leaving early at D&B's (the wifey really wanted to go house hunting)...

EcuFlash is definitely something I've been thinking about, however, driving around with a laptop and cable in the back really isn't my cup of tea. Cobb still says the AccessPort will be available sometime this year on their web site so I'll probably hold out.

I was thinking about getting Revolutions to tune it. Got a lot of Subie friends who've had great experiences with them, kudos to Adam and team!

Anyways, I'll try to keep this post updated with my progress....

Cobb has been saying that since April of 2006. Plus, there's absolutely no reason to drive around with your laptop. You just get it flashed and drive. If you want to change tunes, you have to change gas anyway, so it's not something that you absolutely must have with you all the time. You change fuel at home, plug in the laptop, change the tune, then go drive. It's going to be very rare that you need to on the fly change tunes suddenly while also raising boost and swapping your fuel. I have 4 separate custom tunes and never drive around with my laptop just in case I need to swap tunes. I only use the different tunes in specific situations that are planned ahead of time, because they require fuel changes.

Plus, even if you get flashed, that doesn't preclude you from getting a CobbAP if it ever becomes available. It just means you'll have a great, easy, simple, cheap way to have your car tuned instead of driving around untuned waiting for a product that is more than a year overdo.

RP will be great for your ProTune with the AP, but not until it's released. They do not like to use EcuFlash because of contractual agreements, so that's why I point everyone to Justin.

PS. What's the 5280 (mile) reference?

So I ran this past Sunday at Bandi and got a 13.3 at 104.XX with a 1.9 '60. I looked at last year's slips and was wrong, last year I got 13.8 at 102.77 with a 2.2 '60. Just need to get that damn 1.7 and I might be able to slip into the 12's up here, I might try again in August....

You can slip into the high 12s with a good 60' and great shifting, but you would need another 1-2mph to have solid, consistent 12s.

I ran a 13.45 @ 103.4mph...and a 13.5 at 105. both crappy 60'. 1.98 and 2.0 respectively.

a 1.7 and I should hit the high 12's or 13.0

What's up Kev! This is Chris. I was the stock looking WW one. Glad to hear you got in the 13s after we talked in the staging lanes...

I'm still trying to figure out who it was with the other WW evo (maybe an RS) in the pro-am class that was running that 11.3 I think, his first run that crushed that porshe was incredible!

That's Mark with the guys at CarZ Performance. He ended up running an 11.0 @ 127, which is amazing. He's on the stock turbo, but he's also running a 150 shot, which is simply unheard of on an Evo. The motor will probably not last long like that, but he's going to a GT37R turbo soon, so he probably won't run as much boost and will probably build the motor anyway.
