Need Help!!! P0170!!

Hey guys I need some help.

I have CEL code P0170 being thrown on my 2001 Evo 7. I assume that this code is the JDM equivilant to P0171: lean. Is that correct?

The funny thing is that when cleared it stays off during normal driving. Then when out on the highway, after about 20 minutes at 80mph it will pop right back on. This last time that i pulled it, the scanner said it happened at 78mph under 25% engine load. I cleaned my mass air once should i do it again? what else could it be????

I really need it taken care of so any ideas would be helpful!

Tim,

Your fuel trims are off. Make sure that you do not have any leaks post MAF.

You may have Tobz check the overall fuel trims as they may be off.

Hi mate,
I'm having the P0170 error as well during highway driving also. Exactly as per your post.
I've had it dyno'd to check the air fuel ratios and it looks a bit rich if anything.
I've changed the O2 sensor and replaced the MAF and it went away for a bit but has come back again.
No one can figure it out.
Did you get yours resolved? What was the problem?

No offense man, but those guys havent posted in near 2 years, so I wouldnt expect a reply from them.

Anyways, do you have an electronic copy of your log of your AFR's? Id be more than happy to look them over.
