I think this may be a related question... Is the rim width on the stock Einke wheels the same as the width on the stock BBS MR wheels? In other words, will the 255/40/17 615's work on the Einke wheels as well? I believe the stock Einke wheels are an 8" width. Are the BBS MR wheels 8" as well?
Thanks in advance for the clarification, as I am looking for new tires this spring as well and there seems to be an endless morass of options to wade through
it may fit, but I have never seen a 255/45. What tire brand has that size? I would not recommend it, though, because the tire will be too tall. It will suck. Look for 255/40, 245/45, 245/40, 235/45, etc.

Im sorry the Falcon rt 615 in a 255/40/17 or a 255/40/18 there we go my fualt
Yes, as mentioned above, the 255/40-17 will fit on a stock-sized rim even if lowered. A 255/40-18 is a completely different story, because it depends on the offset of the rim, the width of the rim, and your alignment. Saying you are "dropped" 1.5" tells me you just have springs? You aren't actually supposed to "drop" the Evo, because it messes up the suspension dynamics, but if you get a proper coilover setup, then one of the side effects is that the car is lowered in conjunction with changing the suspension dynamics.
255/40 RT-615s on the stock rim are pretty nice. I do not recommend spending all the money on 18s just to use a small tire. Part of the reason for getting aftermarket rims is to improve the handling of the car by widening your track and fitting bigger meat under the fenders. 18s with 235s would be weaksauce, imo. Maybe an 18X9 with 265/35-18s? That would be sweet...
One final question that I think you indirectly answered...
When going camping/long trips, my rear suspension is quite compressed from the weight I am carrying in the trunk/back seats. With the 615 255/40/17's, will I need to roll the fenderwells to allow the sidewalll to tuck under the rear quarterpanels/ fenders so as to avoid any rubbing?
