Man, come on, there is more proof on this than you can shake a stick at. It's common knowledge throughout the ENTIRE Evo community. If you don't believe our local owners who have already told you how awful it was on their cars, then go to EvolutionM.net and read until your eyes bleed.

It's really frustrating when people come in with very poor mods then question us when we try to help them. It's not like we have anything to gain from trying to help you...we're not selling you parts or suggesting parts from our sponsors.

By the way what proof. I asked for the numbers not opinions and nothing but your feelings came out. Common is a lose term if no one knows...lol TRUST ME I HEAR YOUR FEELINGS. I am a fact type of a person that needs some hard fact before I will test some. AS I said earlier if you have numbers then I am all ears.

Man I have ask a question about what is the best mod in your opinion is. I understand What you arw saying, but when someone forks out money and buys something they are not going to just chuck it on someone that they don't knows opinion. Plus I have asked K&N and they stat that NO One has complained other than me. So drop this and it is all good. Please respect that. I understand people are trying to help. The EVO's only been in the US for what three years or four right? So let this go people and lets have some fun.

I am just wanting to know what is the best mod that you think for an EVO.....

Welcome to the site BAMBAM-------------Warr has a point about the K&N FIPK, people have trouble tunning it. Tests have "pruven"------(shameless plug) better WHP results w/ the drop in K&N filter.

Personnally I like the look of the K&N unit and wouldn't consider changing it for only a few ponies. The carbon fiber makes up for the loss in my book. Also stay away from AEM, they are also hard to tune for. Must be manifold harmonics or something.

General consensus on CAI's for the Evo are HKS SMF, or drop in. I think it has something to do w/ the venturi they build into the MAF adapter. The Weapon R CAI has a venturi as well. (shameless plug again-----------I have one for sale)
No this is a post It gives me his feelings and a....LOL...."Pruven" as he says fact. I need more of this. Thanks Ken I really don't think a few ponies are going to hurt me, like Ken is saying.

I just told you there are TONS OF FACTS - they just aren't here. NOthing I'm saying here is an opinion - NOTHING. It is a proven FACT. I can't believe you called K&N and asked them about it as if they're going to admit to it. It's even harder to believe that you're using that as your own proof that it's fine.

Look, I don't care. Keep using it along with your UTEC.

Proof is in the pudding. Take it to a dyno, bring along your stock tube/ intake and hook it up. See for yourself, this issue has been beat to death. Loose the K&N and come back and tell us all about it.

Well I can give you some facts- about a year or so ago I had the "pleasure" of attempting to re-tune a car using a UTEC that had been "tuned perfectly" by a local "UTEC specialist" and the car WOULD NOT make two dyno passes the same no matter what was done. One run would be lean, the next rich, there was simply no consistency what-so-ever. I have had similar results on every other UTEC car including Subarus. Sport Compact Car magazine had over 200 dyno runs on thier UTECed WRX and never really felt the car was successfully "tuned".

As far as the K&N, I pretty much stated this earlier, but it is a fact that the MAF adaptor on that unit disrupts the function of the KV MAF and will prevent power from being made. The pipe itself is not much of a problem IMHO, as I have in the past swapped Injen MAF adaptors onto K&N "intakes" and the car then made the appropriatte power for its mods. IMHO the "better" off-the-shelf intakes are the RMR(if you can find one), the Injen, the HKS-although the filter elements on the HKS suck ass and I will never use a foam element filter again, the MAF adaptor does work just fine. Lower on my list is the ARC, Greddy, etc intakes.

BAMBAM...just so you know I called to K&N too and complained....and there were several members in the evo community who called complained, returned the intake, and got money back. That is all i will say....I understand your thoughts.

As far as mods go........cams....without a doubt. That is one of the best mods. Fuel rail...just to keep the 4th from starving, and definitely a flash but either JustDAM or MAC or any other Open ECU flash tuner.....just my opinion...but it's like an @$$hole...everybody has one
