I drive my car daily and am currently running a GT35R. My plans are to build the motor next season (not this upcoming one) but I was debating whether or not to stick with map ecu or run AEM's standalone system. I'd love to have some of the features that EMS has but... At the same
time I also didn't want the reliability of my car to go down to S*** for daily driving. By the end of the month I wanted to get a re-tune for meth injection and an intake manifold. So please, If anyone could give me some feedback, advice, experiences with EMS, ANYTHING! I would appreciate it SOOOOOO much! Thanks again, and all comments and criticism is welcome!
I like the EMS, but at the same time of course you need someone who knows what their doing to tune it, every little feature needs to be touch from cold start, when your fan kicks on ect... but over all I love it and your right it has GREAT features.... you couldnt honestly pay me enough to go back to the stock ecu and MAF I hated it due to how "picky" it gets when you start running a more complex setup, If you plan on building your motor like you say you are going to run into idle issue's with bigger cam's and IMO you pull more power out of the AEM easier.

Thanks John. You have a ix too right? I really think I'm just gonna go with EMS because with the tune I have now on stock ecu I feel like my car still has so much more potential. I just need to take the right steps to get to where I want to be and I feel like this will help a lot for sure. Are you going to have Chris tune your car when he comes out at the end of the month?

I did the cold start and a lot of the basemap work for the E9, and it should start about 99% of the cars out there with very minor work. The MAF map has a lot more time in it than the SD map, the philosophy being that a guy with a TBE, Intake, etc. will be able to drop in the AEM, load the basemap, and be able to drive the car relatively safely to the dyno etc.
The SD mapping has a little less development time on it, because 90% of the people out there using it will have much more in mods than anyone using a MAF, and will understand the need for much more tuning time. Still, the SD map should start and run most E9's out there, at least enough to start tuning.
