Strange noisef

I was wondering if anyone else may have had this problem or may know what the cause of it could be. I have a 11,000 on my evo and have done every oil change at 3,000 miles each. Run synthetic and have used only premium gas from day one. The problem is when the car is cold in the morning and sometimes in the after as I'm starting and there is a clicking or knocking noise until I get to about 10 to 15 miles an hour then everything is fine. If anyone could help I would greatly appreciate it. Or should I just take it to mits for some warranty checks?

Do you know where the sound is coming from? Some of the Evo 9's have had an issue with the Altenator bearings causing a rubbing/ticking sound. My buddy Jason had this issue on his 06 and ended up getting a new altenator.

The front right or left area

It is coming from the front left or right area. It is a ticking noise as I take off and then goes away as I continue to drive. Was the alternator covered under his warranty?

I do believe it was under warranty. Does your car do it at idle? If you can pinpoint the area of the noise that would help a lot. My buddy's altenator would make the noise at idle and you could hear it when you popped the hood and held your ear down close to that area.

According to the Mitsu it's not a big problem but something they have seen before.

How loud of a tick is it? I could just be lifter tick, some are louder than others.

Its not that loud

The ticking isn't that loud and sometimes it is there and sometimes it is not. Just wanted to make sure it was not something serious worse comes to worst I will just take it in.

Then it is probably just lifter tick which is normal even on stock cams.
