Advans are incredible for handling and not that good for drag, but they can still get the job done. They are not really worth the cost for new ones, though. If you want top of the line extreme performance summer tires, then go with one of these:
- Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star Spec or regular Z1
- Bridgestone RE-01R
I don't know what size rims you have, but if you let me know, then I can suggest tire sizes.
If you want a step down from these, then consider the RT-615. Same UTQG rating with 200 treadwear, lower cost, and will last a little longer than those above, but will not compete in terms of handling.
Ohhh, then slap some 265/35-18s on there or at least 255/35-18. 235s go on skinny 8" rims, but you can put some big meat on 18X9.5s. My race rims are 18X9.5 with 285/30-18s on there. You can do the 255/35 without fender mods probably, but it depends on the rim, its offset, how low you are, and how much camber you run.
LOL I have no idea. No offsets I know this. car was dropped 2 in the front 1 in the rear I believe. I didn't do it the previous owner did and I am pretty sure thats what he said but don't hold me to it. camber don't know I just them aligned 2 wks ago and he said the back passenger was toed out all the way. I think this is due to the accident in Oct where it crushed my frame rail on that side.
Of course they have better wet traction and higher treadwear, because they are all-seasons. They have very poor performance relative to summer tires. All-seasons should only be used during the Winter on an Evo in my opinion, else you totally kill the handling during dry days (vast majority of the days in CO). Some people don' mind that, though...
You might want to check your facts. G-Force Sports are not all season tires. And they are rated best in their class for dry handling. And I'd put them up against any other summer tire in their price range.

The g-Force Sport is BFGoodrich's Ultra High Performance Summer tire designed for sport compact drivers who want to combine outstanding dry handling with affordable prices. The g-Force Sport was developed to provide crisp and responsive handling in both wet and dry conditions. Like all summer tires, the g-Force Sport is not intended to be driven in near freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.
So quick to spout out something without researching it just because you've never used it....tsk tsk.
There is more than one type of BFG "sports." You never said G-force. Also, the term "ultra" is just a word they use to fool people who don't know any better. The category that the Evo uses is "Extreme." Ultra sounds pretty high, but there are all-season tires that rate higher than the g-force sports in both wet AND dry.
They are cheap and perform thusly. They do not compare to the tires I mentioned.
Not my fault you didn't know what I was talking about. There are two kinds of BFG tires with the word "Sport" in them. The ones I have (which I named justly) and the Super Sports, which I did not name. And I didn't call them "Ultra", that is a term used by a company that knows a lot more about tires than you do.
The OP did not specify what type of driving he was going to be using them for. So there is absolutely no reason why I can't recommend a GREAT daily driving tire that handles very well in dry AND wet, has long tread life, and won't break the bank.
Until you've driven on these tires, how bout you hold your opinion on them to yourself. Not everyone drives around town at 10/10ths or Autocrosses. There are other tires out there that work great for daily driving, perhaps you should keep that in mind when someone asks a broad stroke question about something. Guess that's too much to ask since your opinion is severly subjective and everything else you've never tried isn't worth using.
I didn't say you called them Ultra. That's what Tire Rack uses to describe the tires that fall in the category below the ones we use on the Evo. That's where this tire falls. Sure, they know more than I do about tires. What does that have to do with anything? They use a clever adjective like "ultra" to fool people like you into thinking they're good tires. Pretty funny...
I didn't say you couldn't recommend these. I said they of course have better wet grip and a higher treadwear, because they are lesser tires. That's how it works. You don't use your Evo for anything handling-related, so why are you telling me to hold my tongue? Like I suddenly have to have used every tire to know where it stands. It's quite obvious when you see the category it's in and how it's rated. This tire doesn't even come up in conversation for any type of performance related to the Evo. If that's what he's looking for, then that's fine, but it doesn't change anything I've said. They are are weak relative to Extreme tires, and just like other tires in its class, it will last longer and do better in wet than most extreme tires. They cost less, because they don't perform as well - it's pretty simple.
Fool me? How so? I read reviews on this tire and many others when making a OBJECTIVE choice for what I wanted. In the end I made my choice and they peform VERY well for what they cost. You're just so steamed that I called you out AGAIN for talking about something (g-Force Sports) you had no idea about that you have to resort to calling me a fool? So if Ultra is a clever adjective, what do you call "Extreme"?
Lesser tires? When did this become a comparison test? I don't recall saying they were better than any other tire...but you were quick to blast them because they are cheaper and happen to suit the use I put them through. Here you go trying to get on your soapbox when someone recommends a product that you don't approve of. And as always I have to remind you that YOU are not the God of Evos and therefor have no place or right to tell anyone what they should or shouldn't put on their cars.
So in effect me telling you to "hold your tongue" means that you shouldn't jump to the conclusion that everyone wants to be like you, drive like you, and use parts that you think are best.
Thank you for reiterating my point. Not everything is about "best" performance. THAT is pretty simple.
