Your time and money is better spent on other parts. Since your car is new and you're looking to keep things from breaking and blamed for it, start off with a catback. Maybe a drop in panel filter and some tuning work too.
Be careful though. After a couple of months at that power level the modding bug should be fully imbedded and full turbo kits will start catching your eye.

It's very rarely used and not one of the main mods we use on Evos. There are many other more effective mods, but there's very little that won't void your warranty. Mitsu will often times deny warranty claims if they see ANY mods, but most places will at least allow a cat-back and drop-in filter, but nothing else...

That makes sense. If I do a Cat Back system and a drop in panel filter will I have to flash my ECU?

No, but a flash will be far more valuable than the cat-back and filter combined...

Sure, if the dealer finds it. Essentially, most any mod will void your warranty, unless you have a sympathetic dealer/rep. As you've only had your Evo for a week, why mod it? You've yet to see what the car is capable of.

100% Agree on that. Get a feel for the car before you start modding. Also make a descision whether you are going to mod or not. To me its not worth slapping on some warranty friendly mods just to have some D-bag mitsu service manager void it anyway despite what they may be (catback, flash) etc.

Yes, if they know about it, but it's virtually undetectable.
