I have been reading and mostly everyone upgrades their turbo kits but I would like to get a little info on the 20g turbos are they good turbos to use what kind of horspower numbers or quarter mile times can be achieved with this turbo. They are bolt ons so why dont many people use them. I have read they are rated at 450 hp but is that at the wheels or what.
Would this be a good choice for me I have a buschur racing front mount with intercooler piping, full turbo back buschur exhaust with straight pipe,ebay 02 housin, act light weight flywheel,center force clutch,aps blowoff valve, buschur filter kit, 720 injectors, walbro fuel pump, tuned with an afc at 24 psi. Also a chiller kit.
No, most people do NOT upgrade their turbos. Where did you read that most people do that? Upgrading the turbo is a major modification that can lead to many complications and heartache as well as great expense when having to buy more supporting mods, stronger clutch, and eventually replacing broken drivetrain parts.
The 20g's are not very good turbos. There are several versions, but even the best one, which is the 20g-9-5 (5-bladed 20g wheel inside a stock IX turbo) has been discontinued by Buschur, because it simply isn't good enough for the price. HP and 1/4 is all dependent upon your whole setup, your location, your conditions, and your driving. Many people don't have them, because even though they are bolt-ons, they aren't much of an upgrade over stock.
There are much better turbos to get, but I do not recommend that you even touch your turbo, because I am not confident you have enough knowledge currently to cope with it. You already have a few mods that are wrong, so I would worry more about fixing your current setup and trying to run 11s on the stock turbo before worrying about going big. You should not in a million years be running 24psi on 91oct with an 03 evo, and relying on an SAFC to tune for that is not the best idea either. The injectors were by no means needed on the stock turbo, but I'm guessing you had to get those in order for the SAFC to make decent torque.
No I meant that most people upgrade their hole turbo kit rather then just buy a bolt on turbo. You are right i had to get injectors to get good torque and horspower numbers on the afc and i did get a little to big of injectors I should have got 660's and the air intake and uper intercooler piping are not needed but you see I bought all that with the intentions to bolt on my turbo but used my saved up money on some unexpected bills. I would have used a reflash but for the time being and since I was short on cash I used the afc.

Not sure where you are getting your info Warr. You can buy a 20G-9-5 today if you want one, and they are excelent turbo's for higher boost levels than stock. 11.1 second 1/4 mile times are no joke. He is in development for a new version that makes more power, but has more lag... with the test mule for that turbo he has run 10.8 in the 1/4 mile. If you have a 20G-9-5 it can be upgraded at a later time to the new version he is developing if you want more top end power at the expense of slower spool up.

My info was from Dave and Al - both said it's discontinued in lieu of the new one. There may be one person running 11.1, but it's very rare. A few are doing 11.3-11.4, but if you notice, those guys have tons of money in supporting mods like AEM EMS and some have built motors. Additionally, this is running the turbo to its max on C16 or other race fuels, which is not what most people do on a daily driver. The 20g-9-5 IS better, but it's not MUCH better like a full turbo upgrade. As Dave has always said, it's good for 20-30whp over stock and that's if running it to high boost levels only.
An oem mitsubishi 20g compressor wheel is a 44lb/min compressor wheel and supports 440 crank horsepower. The 20g wheel referred to in this post is not a mitsubishi wheel and probably has no flow rating, but I would say that it's probably close to the oem wheel.
Do not take these crank horsepower figures to heart if 440hp doesn't sound like a lot, the stock turbo is only a 39lb/min wheel and only supports 390 crank horsepower.
If you've paid attention a little, you'll realize that there are people making over 390hp to the wheels on the stock turbo. These turbos are based on efficiency, but due to increased cooling and higher octane the envelope so to speak can be pushed.
