Question Evo8 cylinder deck

Hey can anyone help me out with a pic of an evo8 cylinder deck or even the bottom of the head? If not does anyone know if it is the same pattern as the USDM 4g63? I am doing a rear wheel drive application and i kind of need the exhaust on the other side... so my solution was potentially to use a head of that era... rather than running goofy exhaust piping to the other side of the car. Any info on that would be greatly appreciated.

I'm a little confused. When you say USDM 4g63, do you mean 4g63's out of Eclipses, old Galants, and Talons? I assume you do since you refered to "that era."
Are you thinking about mounting the motor longitudenally(?) and using an Eclipse head to have the exhaust manifold on the passenger side?
I'm I understanding this right?
Does this help;

You best bet to find out for sure is to contact someone directly who builds 4g63 motors like Slowboy, or Magnus Motorsports http://www.magnusmotorsports.com/index.htm

P.S.
If you are contemplating this, why not use a whole 1g motor?

Yea precisely... It's a wideblock... the RWD version of the 4g64... out of a 92 mightymax. It has the same surface deck as a 4g63 from say... yes an eclipse... so i'm putting that head on it. But i want the exhaust on the other side like you said... in this case not towards the firewall... but towards the driver side strut tower.

I checked the slowboy link... AWESOME! exactly what i was lookin for, thanks for the man!

Damn... won't work... WAY different port pattern. 2300 for an evo 8 block thats not too shabby... i am destroking a 2.1 though... i just wish i could use that head. Looking at the pics of that head though what is the deal with the intake ports? They look skimpy like the 2g eclipse head... but with a notch on top... how come they didn't open em up like they did on the 1g head?

Everything related to intake (throttle body, intake manifold, and intake ports) are smaller on 2g's for better bottom end power. They still are great cars.
Damn I miss my Eclipse

The smaller port gives higher port velocity for better fuel atomization at low RPM for more low end power, and the notch is because the injector boss is on the intake manifold of the EVO instead of being built into the head like it was in the DSM's.

Yea i was always under the impression that with a turbo... bigger = more air = better. A GVR4 guy i know up in denver i was talking to said he uses the 2g head for that exact reason, more velocity.

Taking a look at that head... it looks practically impossible to get that head on the 1g block... the bolts line up... a lot of passages line up... but there is a couple of big ones on the outside of the bolt holes that doesn't exist on the 1g block. Oh well

You can get a 2g head on a 1g block;
http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/show...+head+1g+block
I was contemplating this move with my Eclipse for a while. Slowboy racing used to have a packaged kit for getting a 2g head on a 1g six bolt block, but it was on their old site. Give them a call;

Oh no i was referring to the earlier posts on this thread about an evo8 head on a 6 bolt 1g block. I know i can use a 2g head, probably what i'll end up using.
