Having Evolution VI TD05HR 10.5T Turbo

I was amazed when I bought the brand new evo 8 2005 from 0 miles, I had TD05HR-16G6-10.5T turbo from GSR Evo 6 ... I know that stock evo 8 should have TD05H-16G6-9.8T. But this is rare!

No, all the 05s got the 10.5. Only the 03-04s got the 9.8. The special TME version on the Evo 6.5 has Titanium/Aluminum internals along with the 10.5 hotside, but our 05s only got the 10.5 hotside and not the special internals.

Yeah, of course the Evo3 turbo is different - that's a way older version. The IX is an improved version of the one you have. It has a larger compressor housing, which allows it to make more power at the same boost levels. The JDM IX has magnesium internals, but those are prone to breaking, so the USDM IX is the best.

I don't think you can just change the internals, no, but you can sell your turbo and buy a TME IX.
