HELP!!! CAT converter question

Hi everyone....... HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a 2003 Evo 8 recently picked it up a month ago. I live in Ontario Canada. Im having a problem. My car failed the emission/smog test. It has a few mods, intake, cam gears, exhaust, boost controller s-afc,..... I am looking to change my cat conv, but a brand new one (OEM) is 1100 from mitsubishi. Does anyone know if i am able to use a CAT from another car that may be cheaper such as a TALON (tsi) or something?? will it work properly and efficient or would i HAVE TO get an Evo cat... by the way im looking OEM, So ANY HELP would be appreciated. I would like to learn something new,,, thanks in advance everyone!!!!!!

a cat from a talon will not match up in piping and up to the standards your evo needs. best bet would be trying to someone who upgraded to a test pipe and get there oem cat. Or find a exhaust shop and have them weld you in a cat. i would contact some of the after market companies and see how much a highflow cat will run you.
