1st impressions are "Holy $hit!"
Here are the boost pressures as read on my AEM EMS when doing a 3rd gear pull from 2000 RPM up to 7200 RPM. This is with no boost controler installed, just going by spring pressure (18.9 psi spring) in the TIAL wastegate. The AEM EMS typically reads 2 psi lower than my boost gauge.
2000 RPM go WOT
2500 RPM .8 psi
3000 RPM 1.3 psi
3500 RPM 2.5 psi
4000 RPM 6.0 psi
4500 RPM 10.4 psi
5000 RPM 16.0 psi (WG starts to open, rapid boost rise stops)
5500 RPM 16.5 psi
6000 RPM 17.2 psi
6500 RPM 18.0 psi
7000 RPM 18.5 psi
Here is the same range with the EVO 6 TME turbo:
2000 RPM 2.6 psi
2500 RPM 5.2 psi
3000 RPM 10.0 psi
3500 RPM 18.4 psi
4000 RPM 19.6 psi (target boost)
With boost control enabled I think the GT 35R will reach target boost right after 5000 RPM since it was going up VERY fast when the WG started opening.
Now on to transient response:
Shifted from 2nd to 3rd at 8000 RPM, from going back to WOT after the shift to full boost (17 psi) was .8 seconds. This is with the WG starting to open at 16 psi slowing down the response time a bit.
Same situation with the 6.5 TME turbo was .5 seconds. This is with boost control shutting off all boost signal to the WG until set pressure is reached, thus speeding up respool time.
I will get more data logs over the next week or so as I put the boost control system back on line.
Later,
Keith
