I've tuned a 2g 2.0 with a 60-1 and it spooled at 5K.

Hmm, there are many turbos on the market that work well with the Evo, but I have not seen ONE Evo that uses a 60-1. Tell your friend to get online here to get some good input on what turbo to use.

I wouldn't expect any big turbo to spool fully before 5000rpm without a stroked motor. If you expect it to spool fully before 5k, then you are referring to a moderate-sized turbo, so keep that in mind.

You have to keep in mind your defenition of "Full boost". I prefer to use a number (for example 20 psi) rather than the amorphouse phrase "full boost".

My setup in 3rd gear reaches 20 psi at 4900 RPM, but it doesn't reach "full boost" (28 psi) until 5300 RPM.

Dunno, I've never seen an Evo try to run that turbo. There are several other big turbos that are already making proven, reliable power on MANY Evos. What's the deal with wanting this T3/T4?

That's a pretty vague question. How fast will it spool on what setup compared to what? And to what psi? Your setup with that turbo will likely not spool the same as the next guy's.
