hi i have an 06 mr running on the stock bbs i was wondering if i can run on 255/40 and what i have to do to the car after

i'm pretty sure that is the max size you can run at stock height and a little lower without modification. search there are probably a couple threads that list setups. I cant comment because i just run the stock 235/45r17's.

You dont have to do anything to run 255's. The only thing is WHY? They run much better on a wider wheel such as a 17x9. If you run a 255 on a stock wheel, your steering response will be slower, and at high speeds youll feel a "floating" feeling from time to time. Just run a 245 on the stock rim.

alright cool thanks. i just want to use the full potential of the tires. if i go 245/40 instead of 245/45 itll grip more since theres more contact patch right?

no one is saying it will grip more, but your steering response will be greater letting you drive the car more. why not just stick with the stock size until you get a new set of wheels to better accomedate the 255's
