Any RS owners using DOT 5 fluid???

I'm thinking of trying some DOT 5 brake fluid and was wondering if anyone else is using it or experienced any problems.

I belive DOT 5 is too High for normal street use. Not sure tho right now, But I can look up specs when i get home.

It's not that I'm hard on my brakes at all. I was mainly looking at the longevity of the fluid; it doesn't absorb moisture like DOT 3 & 4. I spoke to evomrguy (a master tech.) and he said the only problem is that it can't mix at all with regular fluid (3/4) and that getting all the fluid out of the system might actually require rebuilding the master cylinder.
Brake time is coming up for me so I'm looking at options and ideas.

Ohh okay... well if you can run it, then do it. im using DOT 4 right now and I have no problems with it. tell me how it goes with the DOT5

dot 5 is silicone. as your buddy said very difficult to get a swap without replacing everything.
silicone is the preferred fluid for classic cars that sit for long periods. the reason stored cars like it is because it does not attract water like dot 3,4 and 5.1. the normal fluid would get enough water in the system that pistons would rust and pit the cylinder walls (none disk), if left long enough without use.
I don't know why but I have never seen it used on race cars. beyond the water issue it must not have any positives better than a good dot 3,4,5.1.

in a nut shell, not worth it for a dd or even a once a month track car.
