^^ IX bov is great for i would say up to 25-26 like stated, but it does leak. It has a leak already built into the design of it. synaptic may be one of the best BOVs out there. Anyway If I could pick 3 BOVs it would be synaptic, Evo IX, and greddy type-s.
well i'm planing to buy the ic pipes cuz i don't have them, mean while look for a synaptic BOV ( what is the problem with the hks) i was thinking on the greedy kit that brings upper ic pipes and bov the lower ic pipe is extra..wish one you guys recomend. i want to run at least 22 psi.
the greddy type-s is discontiuned. the hks isnt really functional for the evo since we need a BOV that opens under partial throttle which the HKS does not do. Also to run it VTA you need a great tune or a stand alone engine management. ETS piping and synaptic BOV is my vote
that is good info, well i'm goin to look for the ets piping and the bov Synaptic one.also i'm getting an EVC-5 boost controler.will keep posted on the piping and other stuff..tnks for all the feedback ..really thank you guys..
dont waste your money on a evc or any boost controller for that matter. Get a boost solenoid and the evo X 3bar map sensor and convert to ECU controlled boost. I have seen it done for about $150 not including the tune. Great response and control if you have a good tuner.
Or go old school and do a MBC like Rookhoe suggested. I didnt like my EVC-5 except for the display. I now run a AEM truboost until i switch to the ECU controlled boost. Truboost is easy and priced very well.
Ill admit, ECU controlled boost is great, and thats what im using now. I used to have the Hallman MBC, and in my opinion, its great for beginners. Now im using the Grimmspeed boost control solenoid. Its a lot better to hold boost pretty strong all the way to redline. Were still tuning my boost, but as of right now im hitting 24psi at 3300 rpm and tapering to 22psi at 7500 rpm. ECU controlled boost hits full boost faster than an MBC, and holds it much better.
^^ yeah if you cant tune your own or have a good tuner then MBC is easier. I am picking up a ingersold-rand solenoid and i hear they are top notch and cheap for that matter. Like under $40. This will be what i am going to use. The grimmspeed solenoid is supposed to be one of the best.
