clutch swap help
05 Evo VIII. I'm right in the middle of a clutch swap. The transfer case is unbolted from the bell housing, the bell housing is unbolted from the block. BUT the transfer case hits the lip on the oil pan under cylinder # 2 when i try to separate it from the trans, the transfer case can't stay attached to the tranny while the it is dismounted because the transfer case hits part of the block where the bell housing bolts to, and I can't separate the transfer case and the bell housing completely because the shaft coming out of the trans to the transfer case doesn't seem to be separating completely for some reason. If I had a book this would be so much easier, but i have to figure this out myself. Hopefully someone reading this has had this problem before and can help me out.
Main question: How do I separate the transfer case from the trans after it's all unbolted? I've got it an inch away so far. Does the access plate on the bottom of the transfer case have some kind of release pin behind it?
Is there anything else I should look out for when disassembling/reassembling everything else after this point?
Thanks guys!
