Noisy through left-hand corners?

Hey,

i hear a knocking noise from the front left wheel when i take a left hand turn but ONLY when there is virtually no power. It sounds very similar to a busted CV joint but i have taken of the wheel and looked closely and the boots seem perfect, i check the steering boots and they look good too, no cracks or oil. when i had the car up i tried to shake the wheel but it didnt have any play and i could only rotate it a few degrees.

I have gone to a car park and driven around in circles but the noise didnt appear so im not sure if its my CV joint. I only hear it when i take left hand coners below boost, if im more agressive through the same corner the noise disappears.

I think i heard it along the high way taking a left hand corner, seems to be getting worse slowly. Has any one had a broken CV joint that was silent under power by loud when cruising? (ive had the opposite on FWD cars) Could it be loose suspension components?

P.S, car is a evo 6

try replacing the swaybar links first...its cheap and simple to do and could be the cause!!

I called up two mitsubishi dealers and they quote Au$650 ~ Au$800 to get two cv joints done.. but they said they take the cv joints off and just over haul them not replace with new ones. Any way, i called up the place which they out source to do the work and the guy told me to bring it in and he will tell me if its CV or not... he said he doubt its CV.

Ill post when i find out exactly what it is

I found out what was wrong with it! It wasnt CV joints of Sway bar links...

it was the steering rack TIE RODS

repairing it ended up costing AU$200 and only took a few hours
