As I was going to do the rear diff fluids I noticed a leak around the drain plug. So I degreased the area anyway and did the fluid change. Torqued both drain and fill plugs and installed crush washers too. Next day I check the diff again and the leak is in the same spot around the drain plug. Could it be that it needs a new crush washer? I don't hear any grinding or crunching noises from the rear diff. What are your thoughts?
Whenever I've done my rear diff., I've just reused the stock washer. It's not really a crush washer like the oil drain plug uses, it's just a flat aluminum washer. Maybe change back to a stock one and a see if it works.
I've been using the stock washer ever since my first fluid change. Yes its just a flat washer and not a crush washer(sorry about that). Guess I'll get a new one from Mitsu dealer.
