I own a yellow evo 8 and was wondering if anybody live in washington. I need help installing my hks eids and hks racing suction intake. I have aftermaket bov and hks 272 cams. the idle is rough at complete stops other than that the evo run likes a dream. Also is there any place near by i can get it tuned. I had a check engine light the other day running too rich any trouble shoots thanks 2063519260

I live up in Lynnwood, but work down on Lake Union. As far as tuning, I just got my tactrix cable to start (learning) working on my IX, but I'm most likely going to be logging data and emailing my results to the guy who tuned my car from the RM region to help me out. I could help you with the intake sometime. Let me know.

I would recommend not installing the HKS EIDS as a band-aid and instead getting rid of the improper BOV you have installed. I see you are a fan of HKS, but those are not the best parts for the Evo. You would have a perfectly-running Evo without spending any extra money if you had a JDM MR DV, stock IX DV, Forge Evo15 DV, or Forge RS DV (among others). The HKS SSQV is not good for the Evo for multiple reasons, and no VTA BOV is good unless you are no longer using the MAF. Adding yet another item that you have to purchase just to somewhat mask the idle problem is not a proper way to fix it. Up to you if you absolutely have all HKS parts, but if you want your Evo to be healthy, fast, and reliable, I recommend doing away with those HKS parts (not the intake/cams, just the BOV and EIDS).

You should get tuned by Lucas English at English Racing. Look him up online or call Extreme Turbo Systems (ETS) to get to him and/or to get better parts for your Evo.

It would probably make more sense to hand it over to Lucas English - he is a superior tuner and is at your same altitude, which makes a big difference. His stock turbo'd Evo runs 10.9 @ 126+ and put down 500whp.
