Did some racing today at Cecil County Dragway (Sep 6, 2006)

Was a learning expirience, I'm pretty disappointed over all with my driving. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

The track prep was god awful, even visually, the track just looked bad. It was really hard to find the groove, and over all I had some interesting traction issues.

Best run was an 11.8@118mph, with those types of traps I should be WAY lower in the ET's. I really have a hard time keeping the nose of the car up, and it seems with the increased boost and power the car nose dives hard in the shift and I lose all of my momentum.

I also was having traction issues pretty bad, my 60 foots arent a really good indicator however because I did cut some low 1.7s, but the car would spin through all of first gear and on one launch went sideways and started wheel hopping. As the sun went down traction became more and more of an issue. My worst 60 foot was a 1.81 and it was also my worst run at 12.4 (missed 4th)

Flat foot shifting isnt really an option anymore apparently, both runs that I tried it I screwed up. The runs that I wasn't trying to do anything crazy I was running 11s....so I guess I should be happy with that.

Here is my best run of the night:

60---------1.74
330--------4.99
1/8--------7.681
MPH-------90.90
1000------9.972
1/4--------11.882
MPH-------118.37

Sorry that I haven't been on AIM. I'm sure we would have discussed this ad nauseam by now. At least the car is "fast," but you know there's tons of room for improvement. I have been trying to tell you that adding lots of power increases the difficulty on a more than 1:1 slope.

Cecil County raceway is the best drag strip I've ever been to when your intention is just watching other people race. When it comes down to racing your car it is a whole other story. I had traction problems there in my automatic 01 eclipse and that was slow as s$%t. If you can 4tun8, make the hike to Atco raceway in south jersey they have the best track and prep work I have ever had the pleasure to race my car on. By the way which car is yours because I have taped or taken pictures of just about every Evo that goes there.
