new best time. need help

ok, i just recently ran a 12.8 @107.968 1/4 @ 22 psi pump gas with a 1.765 60 ft. i'm trying to get my 330 ft down from a 5.299 to the 4.9-5.0 range. i don't powershift nor do i know how to.
any tips on how to get my 330's down without tearing the tranny to sh!t? and yes, im still on the stock clutch.

You just have to launch hard and shift fast at the right rpm. I think I hit 3rd by the 330, so my 1st 2 shifts have a big effect on the 330.

Well, I'm at 5500', so my powerband is shifted to the left, which makes my optimum shift points around 6300-6400rpm. At sea level, even with stock cams, the optimum shift point was around 7100rpm.

7200rpm is fine unless Reno is at high altitude, which I thought it was. If it's 4000' or higher, then 7200 is probably way too high, because your turbo is falling off sharply after 6000. Do you have a dynograph? If so, we would be able to give you better advice on where to shift.

yeah, reno is at 4500 ft. my dyno numbers were done in vegas so i dont think they'd be any help.

Ah, then it's likely that you'd see an improvement with 6500 rpm shift points. The best thing to do if you can't get a dynograph from Reno is to try 6500 and see how it compares, then try other shift points to see what works best for you.

Also, were you tuned in LV or in Reno? It's very important to be tuned at Reno's altitude.

yeah the car was dyno tuned in LV, then a few weeks later, the tuner flew up to reno to fine tune it with a wideband and cleaned up my a/f's.
