Gsr Or Mr... ?

Hey guys, I need some help. I want to buy a evo X MR. I currently drive a honda 2dr civic si, with a comptech Supercharger. I am selling it on sat. So i gotta get my mind set for a evo.

1.) I have seen that the GSR has 5 speed man trans. So i want a MR 6 speed, but i like to shift with a clutch. Does the MR just come with a 6 speed man clutch? or no clutch with the paddle shifter?

Maybe i am wrong or have been mislead, but i was told there is no clutch to u press when u shift in a Evo MR 6 speed. I dont understand how it works i guess... Can someone please explain this to me?

it only comes in a 6spd sst tranny that has paddle shifters and no clutch. its just like any higher end automatic you put it in manual mode and just pull the paddle for up or down. in the sst trans it preloads the next gear. much like VW's, BMW's and many other cars now. If you want to get the most out of your car power wise stick with the GSR, the tranny can handle more and it can be rebuilt instead of buying a whole new one.

Why exactly are you buying the evo? and what are your plans for it? once you answer these questions I can give you a better idea which one you should get. have a plan first not afterwards

Yeah, thanks. Right now i race the civic at the track. 12.9 was my fastest. anyhow. My plans are too bigger turbo, bolt-ons. And then take it to the track. people are all buying MR's. I mean right now i drive a 6 speed... there is no real huge difference between a GSR and MR.

if you want bigger power or putting a bigger turbo on your evo oe even just racing it at the drag strip get the gsr. everyone switches to a built 5 spd once you make good power. basic boltons and not a lot 1/4 time is fine with the mr but the 6spd will not hold power like the 5spd and not want you want for a straight line car.
