e85 + emissons

hey everyone been on here a while just researching

But now im deciding on whether or not to go e85. The only concern is emissons. How will it affect my emissons when i go get it in 2 years?

Right now i have White Rabbit 9 tubo, 264/272 HKS cams, Vishnu cam gears, Vishnu TBE w/ testpipe ( also have the HFC), O2 housing, Walbro fuel pump, Pro-1 manifold, kevlar timing belt..i think thats it..

of course i need injectors and maybe head studs to go e85 so ill have those too.

when first went to register the car i needed an emissons test, i had the HFC on and i failed..cams were set at +3 intake and 0 exhaust. so i had to change to -2 intake +2 exhaust. I put on the stock exhaust system downpipe to muffler, and passed with flying colors

ive been told that e85 emissons will be worse in boost, but better no boost, is that true?

any help is always apprecaited :]

Others have posted about emissions out there, and from what I've gathered; it's the cat that's going to make the largest difference. Cams and cam gears can play a role, but you've already tackled it before so you should be good again.
Hang on to that stock stuff and when the time comes, just swap over.
I can't spaek about the accual emission from e85 because I havn't used it.
Headstuds are only required at 25 psi+

From what I have read, and friends having e-85 GSXs and GSTs It burns clear, and clean... due to the fact that it is 85% Ethonol, it burns real clean. so it will only help you pass the emmissions alot better.

most likely it will not pass if it doesnt have a cat because it still puts alot of emissions out plus as you said it would pass visual so whats the point. It only takes alittle while to put the catback on and then take it off after.

Yeah. Its a easy swap to take off and put back on. so it shouldnt be too hard. If you pass with no cat. The ur car is running CLEAN!
