I've had a couple cars in the past that had a variable cam timing, or a piece of equipment that switch internal intake runners at different RPM's. My question is the car sounds different somewhere north of 4500 rpms, is this becuase of the MIVEC? Also if it just as simple as switching over at a rpm, what rpm is it?
mivec is not like vtec and just switches over at a certain RPM. The mitsus uses rpm, throttle position and a bunch of other factors to determine when it changes cam profiles. it could be the different sound but it may also depend on your mods or issues with your car. What mods and how many miles do you have? any issues in the past?
