Well, I just moved to Seattle, WA from Colorado (where I was tuned), and since I've been driving around here, I've overboosted a few times. My boost is set and tuned at 24 (by none other than JustDSM ) and I was wondering if I need to be retuned at this elevation to avoid overboosting? I have the AEM TruBoost gauge/controller - that's how I know I've overboosted. Anyhow, any input is welcome. Thanks in advance.
I put some "margin for error" in every tune I do. If you're running more than 24 simply lower the controller to the 24psi. If you've gone over your set pressre a pound or two no harm has been done. Just reset your controller
All righty, oh, and I just noticed, that I'm filling up on 92 octane here, rather than the 91 octane. I'm guessing it would be a good idea to have a new map made out for the higher octane? Just to be on the safe side? Btw, nice numbers you put down Justin. That's about where I want to be with my car, eventually.
Using higher octane fuel will only add an additional saftey net to the tune. You could always reflash again to map for the specific changes since you've moved, but unless something signifigant has changed in your setup I wouldn't considering the cost/gain.
