Problem around 18lbs.

As you all know I am on ALky and, I am having problems at around 18lbs. I installed the FMIC and I had no problems until I did that. Could this be a boost leak? I start building bost and then it feels like I hit a brick wall at 18lbs. and it sputters until it hits full boost then tapers back down to like 19lbs. Never had a problem until I installed this FMIC. Is someone around me able to help me do a boost leak test?

Why don't you do a quick visual inspection of your IC piping and see if there's anything loose. I'm sure Lucas could do a leak test for you for next to nothing if you asked him nicely. Good luck on this, I know how frustrating it can be when somethings not right.

All ready did that. and I am starting to think that the front mount could have a problem? It feels like it is choking. It could be that since I cahnged it, I may need another tune. Justin said I don't though. this is really wierd. The really wierd part is that it dd fine no problems until I hit a high boost around 18lbs.

If it "feels like hitting a brick wall," it might be fuel cut. With the addition of a FMIC, better effeciency, turbo works better, more air comes in... blam o.
What's you boost limit raised to?
Are you able to log?

I am guessing you are using a MBC? Also, if you are, then you may want to change your settings to 319 to avoid hitting boost cut/fuel cut. Let me know if you need help with setting this...

What gear are you experiencing the "hit a wall"?

Well with your new Intercooler you are going to be running colder charge temps (especially with this cold weather) with cold spark plugs (BPR8ES I assume) so you are blowing out the spark possibly. Try using some BPR7ES which is a range warmer and it should cure the problem.

Let me know if that works

Hey Lucas it did help out. But I think you are right I need the coil on plugs it is still doing it when I hit the gas fast. It was fine friday but sat. when I started up the car, and warmed it up. I Thought why not hit that 24lbs so I hit it and it is poping again and only hitting 20lbs. Now if I go slow on building boost I can hit the 24lbs again and it pulls hard.

Yea, Scott the 7s are most likely better in the cool weather, when I started to think about it. I wonder if the warmer 6 plug would work even better.

Hey tobz Did you have that problem at high boost with the ALky kit blowing out the spark? I think that is what is happening.

Maybe you need to bleed your brakes, that may fix this problem.
