Yeah, I made sure I did that first (attached). I am going to dyno again with the tuned S-AFC (no other mods), but this will be a different dyno, so I plan on doing 2 runs without the S-AFC, then doing some with it until we think it's running optimally. I liked the hp from my first dyno, but I was surprised that the torque was lower. Most stock runs show torque peaking a bit higher than the hp, but oh well...

The strange curves show that there is a LOT of room for improvement where the rich settings start to take hold. I should have a much more linear curve going from 4500-6000, but instead it dips significantly, then spikes back up and tries to max out again. The funny thing is that before I dyno'd, this is exactly what the butt dyno told me. I didn't understand why or how, but it always seemed like I got another burst of speed at around 6k rpm. For a while, I actually thought the car was slow as hell, because of that dip at 5200. It wasn't until I started holding the boost to redline that I noticed the car was actually fast. I was so used to my small 16gs running out of breath at 5500 rpm in each gear, that I was not prepared to feel the true power of a big 16g.

The reason your torque is lower than your HP is that the torque peak is in the middle of that giant blank spot between 3,900 RPM and 4,500 RPM. Look at the shape of other peoples dyno sheets and you will see what I am talking about. If the dyno hadn't cut out right there you would have peaked between 255 and 260 lb-ft of torque in my view. Did you stop the run at 6,500 RPM or did the dyno cut out again?

Later,

Keith

Yeah, that does kinda suck. You're probably right, but it's hard to tell. I have no idea why that happened, but I do know I was also going well past 7k, so I guess the dyno was on the fritz a bit. Hopefully, that won't be an issue on the next dyno in June.
