Will someone with a flash log and post please?

I've been hesitant of flashes since the day I got my Evo and started looking at tuning options. I finally got to log a mod'ed Evo with a flash/custom tune.
The owner recently installed an AFC for additional tuning and asked me to log a couple of runs. I'm not sure what they loaded in that car, but the timing sucked between 3000-5000 RPM's. It was stuck flat on 5 degrees and refused to budge despite any adjustments to the AFC, richer or leaner. As soon as 5000 hit, bam, timing goes to 8 degrees and starts climbing normally. I adjusted 5000-7000 RPM's on the AFC fine, but could only get the timing to peak to 15-16 degrees.
It's weird. How is this thing holding timing for so long? If someone with a flash and a logger could log a couple of runs and post them, it would be appreciated. Is this a common thing with flashes? I know they have to keep things safe, but...

Well I finally got a hold of someone else with a flash who would let me log their car. Stock, no mods, basic flash removing boost and fuel cut, no tuning;

Cool, we'll do that next time I'm in the neighborhood.
As far as using a 1g logger, what software are you using? I know tunerstein will work. You "might" just need an OBD-II interface.

I don't have any software right now. I was just wondering what I would need.
I have quite a few buddies with 1g loggers. I know I can't just plug up to my OBDII and have it log.
With tunerstein, I would just download that to the palm pilot and then i could use the 1g logger cable and log my runs right?
I'm new to this computer stuff i came from a mustang with speed density and a non mass air rx7

You can't use a 1g cable, but you can use the hotsync cable that comes with the palm and an interface (like this T16-003);
