Ok whats up guys, names corey. Im 18 and live in central NY. As of right now I do not own an evo but I am looking to buy either an 8 or 9(depending on the price) as soon as the snow melts in the spring. I might be young, but I have experience with the 4g63 motor. My first car ever was a 98 Eclipse GST Spyder. That car was a monster and selling it was the biggest mistake of my life. It was all stock except for a knock off BOV, a Megan Racing cat back exhaust, some gauges, a boost controller and an ebay intake. I sold it to buy my current car, a 91 Eclipse GST. It has some major work done to it and I am currently selling it to help fund my evo purchase. I hope to sell this car asap and I hopefully, no definitely, will have an evo in my driveway come spring time.

the Evo 4g63 and the DSM 4g63 is like comparing apples to oranges. it's a completely different motor, so be sure to read up before you purchase an Evo.

Im already a member on mitsu media. And yea the motors might be different, but its not apples to oranges

the one question i have regarding the evos is if i remember correctly, the 9's have MIVEC and the 8's dont. How much quicker are the 9's compared to the 8's?

the 9's respond to mods just a LITTLE better being that they have MIVEC (which gets thrown out the window with a cam swap anyways) and a 10.5 hot side as opposed to a 9.8 hot side. there isn't a difference that will make you crap your pants, though.

^^ the 05 evo 8 had the 10.5 hotside. the evo 9's make about 40 more wheel when properly tuned with full bolt ons due to mivec and the redisgned turbo for the evo IX. its not just mivec.
