Beep Beep (pics of new horn)

Stock vs. Hella

Horn installed

After having some bonehead back into my car, as I was stopped and leaning on the horn, I decided that I've had enough. I now have a bigass Hella truck horn! It's loud, but not overwhelming. It's not nearly as piercing as an air horn, but it certainly gets one's attention. I selected the 310Hz model and my Evo now sounds like a Mercedes tractor trailer.

We have two horns in our cars: one located behind the IC and the other under the front clip (driver's side). I replaced only one of the horns. Perhaps I'll replace the other, if I ever need to take the fascia off, but the single horn is plenty for now. BTW, the truck horn tips the scales at a little over 1.5lbs (!).

I'd like to credit the folks at Streettuned Motorsports who did a great job with the install.

42 views and zero replies in 36 hours. AFAI can gather, my post was pointless, as odd as that may be. Al least, I hope everyone enjoyed the pics.

well I must say its not a bad idea for a daily driver upgrade. I have almost been turned into countless time it's always like no one can see that I'm there and the times I remember I have a horn the stock one just doesn't get noticed

So when you lock your doors w/ the FOB, do you hear the HELLA or the stocker?

When your wife/ girlfriend is running late, and you're sitting in the car does the horn make her go any faster?

Both horns. The Hella is much louder than the stocker, and it takes the aural forefront.

I'm tempted to actually do it.

Naw, it's not pointless. I was one of those 42, but I just didn't know what to say.
... and I still don't.
... so I'll just give it a;

I replaced both of mine with the Autozone special "Freeway Blaster". I too got tired of not being loud enough to let people know they are driving like an idiot.

If it's not powered by an air compressor, it's not loud enough.

Oh so true. Hornblasters.com get those in your car and then it will be something to talk about.
