Stock HIDs

I just bought an Evo 9 a few days ago, but it didn't come with HIDs, and I really wanted them. Any recomendations of what to do? Can I get the stock ones from the Evo, or should I just buy a HID kit from a website and install them myself? Help!

You can get stock hid headlights and bulbs and ballasts though it will set you back alot. However they arent plug and play, some wiring and plug swapping needs to be done. Its much easier and cheaper to install an aftermarket hid kit. Then you can pick the color of the bulb and your able to buy bulb kits that are brighter than the stock ones.

Awesome thanks, what about the HID hight adjustment from inside the car, i'd like to put that in. Or would that just be insane at this point.

Also, mine didnt come with fog lights (###) could I put those in pretty easy?

There really isnt anyway to get the foglights to fit the non foglight housing. A few guys have opened there headlight housings and dremeled the chrome reflector to fit some aftermarket fog lights into them. With some clever wiring you should be able to integrate the factory fog light switch to activate the aftermarket fog lamps. Thats about your only option if you stick with the non hid housings. Same goes for the height adjustment motor. Theres no motors on the non hid housings for the switch to activate. The wiring and plug is back there, you would need fuses and relays added as well. But you need the hid headlight assemblys for it to work. As with the foglights too, the plug is behind the dash, you just need the switch along with the fuses and relays to plug it into the factory hid housings for them to work. So to summarize, if you have non hid housings, no height adjustment and no factory fog lights, no way no how. If you buy factory hid housings and ballasts as well as all associated switches, fuses and relays, you can have hids, foglights, and height adjustment. Not really worth it in my opinion. Just buy some aftermarket hid kit and leave the rest of your money to make your car faster or handle better.

If you are interested I sell a complete plug and play HID conversion kit that will work on your car. You may be able to rig the height adjustment but I really don't know - something to think about as you guys are lucky enough to even have that feature. Prices are $120 shipped and up - I have a thread in the Vendor Announcements if you are interested. You can PM or email me at sales@sharphid.com
