Question Best model Evo for track use

Hi there

I am in the process of buying an EVO for track race use nothing professional just a hobby

I have a choice of any Evo up to the EVO 8 in terms of budget

After doing some research I am finding that the best EVO for track use is the EVO 6 Tommi Makinen Edition or TME otherwise known as the EVO 6.5

Am interested in other EVO owners thoughs

I relaise this question may have been asked a hundred times however I was unable to find it using the search option

Thanks

I voted the Evo 8 because I didnt see the 9 up there. Im not saying that the earlier models wouldnt do better, but most of my experience with Evos comes from the 8's and 9's. Also, in my opinion, the 8's and 9's are the last REAL track performers before the 10.

I thought so too but then after speaking to a few track guys they said the 6 was the last of the real track spec cars as after that they went to a new platform starting with the 7

also have you seen this video shows a stock 6 beating a stock 9 around the track so would imagine the TME would do even better

Im from Down Under Australia btw

Lol I didnt realize that you wernt in the states.

The 6 is a bit lighter than the 8/9. You guys have more access to JDM models of vehicles than we do right?

I know I didnt like the USDM MIVEC map in my 9, so I converted it to the JDM version. I know the 6 doesnt have MIVEC, but this situation just leaves me to believe that most of the JDM stuff is better than USDM.
