Angry Transmission fluid leak into transfer case

This became apparent suddenly by smell when the transfer case vent dumped the excess fluid on the exhaust manifold. I took it to the dealer and they said the seal was the likely cause. As tHey could not get the seal without buying the whole transfer case 3,000$ I had a local garage tear it apart. They felt that the cause was a swollen rubber vent on the transmission had forced the fluid across the seal. As I could not get a replacement seal it was reassembled. It now has a slower leak but is still filling the transfer case. It don't feel like paying 3000 for a transfer case. Where do I go now? It's a 2008 Evo 10 5 speed.
