Nice deep tone at idle, and get abit louder when on the gas. definently not like a honda civic type loud.

I don't think your experience is normal. What did you mean by Megan manifold, DP, and res? You mean a resonator? What is that? They only make a dp, test pipe, and cat-back in terms of exhaust (after the o-2). The test pipe is a resonated test pipe, but I haven't seen it referred to as a resonator. Is that what you meant? Anyway, you didn't list the cat-back, so maybe that's why it's not loud, but my Megan TBE was VERY LOUD. Maybe we have different definitions of "loud," since it's a subjective term. Also, you should have tripped a CEL almost right away with the test pipe. There is nothing in the Megan TP to keep it from tripping the rear o2 sensor code - it requires a CEL fix.

No Megan makes all the exhaust parts. (Exhaust Manifold,RES/TP,DP,Catback, turbo outlet) I have the Megan exhaust manifold, yeah the test pipe is what i am refering to. My friend has a TBE and it is really loud. I dont remember which Cat back i have but its not all that lound. On my TP i have a O2 bung right at the end of it, Thats maybe why my cel has not triped, but i did have a cel for a random misfire on all cyl. once i installed my SSQBOV.
My Catback is Invidia

No, I know Megan makes a header and o2 - notice I said that I was referring to exhaust parts "after the o2." I was saying they don't sell a resonator, but they do sell a test pipe. The test pipe is RESONATED, yes, and it has a capped bung, but that wouldn't keep you from getting a CEL. Everyone who has a Megan exhaust has that thing, but it doesn't get used. You SHOULD be tripping a CEL unless you have a CEL fix for your rear o2 in the cat-back. Anyway, the cat-back is the most important part in determining sound, so it's not the Megan parts keeping it quiet...it's mainly the Invidia.

Whoa, you have your o2 INSIDE THAT BUNG? Holy cow, I've never heard of someone doing that. That's crazy. The rear o2 is supposed to go in the bung in your cat-back. If your rear o2 is actually sticking INTO the test pipe without a CEL fix, then I have no idea how you're not cutting a CEL. That's nuts!

I agree. I had my O2 parked in the bung that came with the Megan resonated test pipe and it threw no end of CELs. It finally went away after I had it installed back on the catback with a L-jointed mechanical O2 fix.

Warrtalon, do you still have your Megan TBE to sell? If so, how much are you asking?

Yes, I do, but I don't really want to ship it across the country. I wouldn't even know how to box it up.

I'm trying to sell it for $400 locally.

The Megan DP gets very close to the oil pan on 05s and 06s, both of which have ACD. I didn't have a problem with it on my 05, though.

He might go with the indvidia which i like better. Any problems with that exhaust ?
He has an 06 Evo 9 SE and I'm on here just to help him out so he doesn't make anymore bad decisions and I also want to learn as much about the cars before I get one in the future

No problems with Invidia, but it's not one of the top exhausts. If he's going to Buschur, why doesn't he just get the Buschur stg1 or Warrtalon stg1? Both use the Buschur TBE, which is the lightest and most powerful available.

I duno i want him to use the buschur, but he's a ricer from a civic and i think he wants a coffee can. I think the buschur looks pretty much stock and sounds amazing. Not to mention power and weight like you said.

Well, you know, whatever floats his boat. Show him the times in my sig if you have to. I ran those times with the basic Warrtalon stg1 using 93oct and 110oct.

megan or ams?

hey, I'm looking for a budgeted exhaust. I"ve narrowed it down to ams or megan. my price range is about 500 the MOST. I've heard alot about the Megan. I might end up getting that since it sounds tempting. I'm not aiming for the top of the line parts and performance right now. I would just like a well balanced exhaust system. If you guys can guide me in where i can find a good exhaust, price, and website. Let me know! Thanks
