Throwout bearing not releasing, metal clip bent, Ahh!

I've got an EVO 8. First time ripping my transmission off the block and I'm having a hell of a time with this throwout bearing! I thought I had it released, removed all the bolts connecting the trans to the block and now the trans is just spinning/stuck on the clutch. I bent the metal ring trying to release the throwout bearing (see photos), anyone have any tips haha? I feel like the bent metal ring is keeping it from releasing, I'm wondering if i'll need to rebolt the trans to the block in order to remove this. Entire motor is currently out of the car. Thanks for anyone that can help, feeling pretty stuck here! Tried to post images but the forum said I'm too much of a noob!
