They're a little bit different - but overall the same. Same engine code, but they've likely had some things change and evolve. If anyone has the specifics, please feel free to post them...

well, I think the internals are stonger, the cams are "hollow" and lighter...along with the valves as well *i think*...I think the head probably flows better, and the whole engine overall is lighter and stronger. But yes, It also has a different manifold and turbo...comes stock with a version of the 16g

well, yes, the turbo is a huge difference. It is a version of the 16g, most similar to the EVO III 16g but with twin scroll so it spools faster.

but the whole build quality of the EVO engine and components is better than the DSM, or at least it seems so.

just for your info i decided to throw in the fact that the turbo II rx-7's had twin scroll turbochargers, i beleive they worked well for spoolup and top end...

what size injectors come stock with the new evos? i heard they run like 18 psi stock so i hope they got at least 550's with a better fuel pump.

also, is crankwalk still an issue? i don't mean to be a gary and bring up crankwalk like people do all the time, i am just wondering if mistu did something to cure it on the new evo's.

The evo's come with 550cc injectors, denso fuel pump and run 19.5 psi stock. I am not sure on the flow rating. It is something like a 160lph or 190lph. The psi usually varies from car to car. I know that my car would only run at 17psi stock. A good boost controller is a definite first upgrade, of course after a boost gauge.

Here is a link to RRE's site on fuel pump flow comparisons.

I think there are two voltages because when you are at wot it charges the battery more, therefore running at aprox. 14 volts, normal driving it is probolly getting around 12 volts. Just my half ejumacated thought, maybe not though.

The EVO has a fuel management system that runs the pump at 12 volts for low load conditions and 14 volts at high load conditions.
