I need to know if all that would be worth it and if it would affect my cars reliability

Welcome to evotuners.
You'll only need to upgrade the BOV if your going to raise the boost above stock levels
Since you want to keep it pretty stock, consider a high flow filter in the stock box. I went this way and I'm pleased.
Upgrading your exhaust is where you should start and where your going to feel good power gains.
Is it worth it? Yea, I think it is. I love the extra umph and as long as you stay on top of your regular maintenence, your car will be fine.
Here's a word of warning; Once you start mod'ing and feeling the extra power, it is addicting.

I agree with TurboLarry about the BOV, but what I've noticed with the boost...I upgrade the exhaust and intake and my boost dropped 3 psi because the ECU was reading more Intake and Exhaust Airflow and adjusted it the boost levels to stay safe....You will notice this drop in power....so, I added a boost control and keep it at 20 psi to stay safe until I do some other things....

After adding a K&N panel filter and a cat-back, my boost still does exactly what it's supposed to: spikes at 1.4 bar (20.3psi) and tapers to 1.2 bar (17.xpsi). A DP could cause a change, but I wouldn't expect to lose 3psi peak.

TxEVO, there is no need for you to change your BOV, because you are running boost levels, which are held just fine by the stock BOV. Even if you did get the MR BOV, you'd have to make sure you got the real, metal JDM MR BOV, and not the one that comes on the 2005 MR, because that one is just the regular plastic BOV.
My Ram-Air really sucks the air in and is super loud...It really sounds good to, I really don't know why I lost 3 psi....I talked to alot of people about it and they all said that it would happen....who knows......

I thought stock bov's leaked just like the second gen eclipses did? Are they different and actually hold stock boost. I know second gens were known to leak and a quick and easy fix was to swap out for a first gen bov...

Jon

PS. when I had my Scooby, and put on a 3" turboback, it was a huge difference. If you are worried about it being loud with a catless DP, purchase a catback with a chambered muffler of some sort. I hear the Buschur Racing with the Magnaflow option is a good choice.

Putting on a 1g bov works here, too, but the stocker holds the stock boost just fine. I noticed no difference when putting on my metal JDM MR DV, even though I run higher-than-stock boost. It is probably holding the higher boost better, but not so much that there is a noticeable difference in butt dyno or in how the car responds.
I have a 1g BOV on my car. I run 30psi on my stock turbo. At first it held fine but now I get flutter at 25psi. I'll be upgrading very soon.
Exhaust is the easiest way to gain power on our cars. Warrtalon just might run 11s if he gets a test pipe and he is just about stock
