Introducing the Switzer Performance Innovation Coil-On-Plug CDI (Capacitive Discharge Ignition) kit for the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution. The venerable 4G63 as offered in the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution is a superior performer, but when boost is raised above stock levels, the stock ignition has proven to be inadequate. Enthusiasts have also experienced stock ignition coil failures or ignition misfires after extended road course activity. In response to this, Switzer Performance Innovation has developed a complete plug-in ignition system which requires no cutting, splicing or modification to the factory wiring harness. The system comes complete with a CNC aluminum mounting plate which mounts four individual ignition coils. The aluminum plate serves as a heat sink to draw heat away from the coils. An AEM Capacative Discharge Ignition (CDI) unit delivers over 180mj of ignition energy to each coil. The CDI unit is mounted via a custom mounting tray that uses existing mounting points in the Evolution’s engine bay.
