Guys as you can see, i'm new to the forum but not new to the DSM scene. (Currently own a '99 GSX with bolt-ons, 3065, etc..) I am curious as to the differences between the models if someone can link me or give me a thorough run down on the differences and/or options available i'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

03 04s are the same i believe. Then 05s offered the MR, RS, and the "GSR" . GSR were normal but every 05 offered the ayc controller. RS's didnt have other things (search). But 05s didnt offer HID's. THere was a SSL package which offered Better sound, sunroof, leather seats, and HID's. That was offered in 05. 05's had a bigger "hotside", turbo exhuast mani which boosted the 05's to 10 more hp to.

Anyone here if i said anythin wrong correct me, and add to.

The RS became available in 04 with the aluminum roof and limited slip front differential, but it still had the VC style center diff, and no ABS.

In 05 they went to the ACD (Active Center Differential) on all trim levels, and all trim levels recieved the limited slip front diff. Still no AYC (Active Yaw Control) available on US cars. They also added the MR with 6 speed transmission, vortex generators on trailing edge of the roof, different suspension tuning and lighter wheels along with the aluminum roof being the major differences. All 05's got an upgraded hot side on the turbo from 9.8 cm2 twin scroll housing to a 10.5 cm2 twin scroll housing.

Still no factory cruise control on EVO's for some reason :(

Keith (fourdoor) gave you some good info. Here's some more that may help:

05 rs/gsr/mr comparison info

The 05s are superior to the 03/04s in that they have the upgraded turbo (10.5 hotside) AND an improved wastegate design. They all have ACD and a front LSD (huge help). A stock 05 (any model) is capable of running 12.9s if launched/driven properly and can get 104-105mph with no modification, which is a noticeable and measurable difference that alludes to more than a 5hp/13tq increase over the previous years. It's more like 20whp...I, for one, dyno'd 248awhp stock on a Dynojet and ran 13.1 at 104 on a 1.92 60'. The 60' suffered due to the built-in two-step set to 5k, and at the time, I didn't know how to disengage it (now I do).

Remember also that the 2006 Evo IXs will have even more changes and will be more powerful!

Built in two-step? BTW, thanks for the info everybody. What kind of prices are we talking for an '05 GSR w/o a sunroof minus tax/title/license? How much APR financing are you all getting for say perfect credit?

What warrtalon means by the built in two step, is the computer cuts timing off at 5000rpm when the clutch is in and you have your foot to the floor, ie when you are launching. The computer will 'hold' your rpms as at 5000. By being able to disengage it, you are able to launch at a higher rpm, thus being able to launch harder.
