Hey, i just got back from runnin my EVO at the strip. Keep in mind this was my first time EVER running a car at a strip, and only second time being to one.

So my numbers were...

R/t - .769
60' - 2.3
1/8 - 9.67
1/4 14.895
MPH 94.7

The only ffecting mods i have would be an Open Element Filter. Stock everything else. Good for a first timer or no?
My other times were 15.2's and i missed second twice in the same lane, against the same guy :pity:

After you learn to launch the car you should be able to get it down into the mid 13's. That 2.3 60' time is killing you.

Keith
Agreed.
Learn to launch your car. .1 in the 60 is good for about .2 in the 1/4. So dropping to a 1.8 60' and hitting your shifts you should be able to run 13.6s if not faster

I don't think he'll be hitting 13s anytime soon with a 94.x mph trap. I know that his trap will improve some, since 2.3 is not even a launch, but he probably won't get near 100.

Carkid, if you're going to bother going to the track, you have to actually launch. Then, once you launch, you have to shift at the proper points (7200-7300rpm). Lastly, if you do all that, and your MPH is not at least 102-103, then you're losing power somehow/somewhere...likely with having an open element filter and no tuning.
I'm hoping he missed a shift with that 94mph trap. But you're right, 94mph traps aren't 13s

That's the first thing that jump out at me in the first post;
"The only ffecting mods i have would be an Open Element Filter. Stock everything else."
or he could have the infamous not tighten enough clamp syndrome from mistu... check ALL you ic piping clamps and make sure they are tight. and that 2.3 60 is killing you...don't worry it was you first time at the track.
could any of this contribute?

1. 98 degree HUMID AS HELL heat
2. 3k mile old oil (changed today)
3. No power shifting

1) A little, but not an 8-9mph difference.
2) No, 3k is early anyway for synthetic.
3) Most people don't powershift. I only do the 3-4 myself and that was only on 2-3 of my 35 total runs. It helps a little, but is not required in order to run a decent et/mph.
Bahh, oh well. Ill get back to the track and do it right sometime soon. My TBE i ordered from RnR has been waiting to be shipped for a week now, im gettin mad as hell. Im goin back when i get that on though. Then its time for a tuner and/or clutch :)
