I've always heard they are very accurate. My only problem with it would be my launch method. How does it know when to start the timer? My launch includes a slight roll as I begin to let out the clutch before I actually hammer it. At the drag strip, the timer doesn't start until I break the light beam, whereas the G-tech might start the timer the moment I begin to roll, which would hurt me by several tenths of a second.
in the instruction manual it says to briskly take off to get the timer started( i guess it starts by motion detecting), and not to take off in a violet or jerky manner. i just think it's not accurate because i was returning home from a trip and ran 13.01 and from what i've read professional drivers can pull in the area of 13.3's in a stock mr. i've come up with two thoughts either i'm a better driver than i think(doubt it) or the G-tech is off by a couple tenths of a second. either way i still like the thing. thanks

Nah, professional drivers don't get 13.3s. Or rather, professional drivers at magazines who don't know how to launch an Evo get 13.3s. I got a 13.1 in mine with a poor 60' (1.92), and several others have done 13.0s. Frankly, it's capable of 12.9s, but it's tough with the 5k limiter, which is what always gives those magazines trouble. The STi doesn't have a launch limiter like that, so they get to basically dump the clutch from 6k and take off...

A 13.01 may not be that far off for you, but in order to duplicate that at the track, it would require a low 1.7x 60', low altitude, cool weather, fast shifting, and a nice-running stock Evo from the factory. All of these are possibilities, but not everyone has the luxury of all of them at once in the same package...
i always knew those editors were full of crap, because i've read three different times for the MR in 3 diff mags. SPEED( by road and track) came up with 12.9 on an Japanese direct MR, Car and Driver 13.3 and Road and Track 13.4. so yeah with all the factors you mentioned above i guess the gtech in pretty accurate. i have not been to the track yet to see what i can really do. but i don't wanna go stock. what do u think of the buschur TBE? thanks.

I think it's one of the best on the market. It fits, it's extremely light, it sounds great, it makes proven power, and you can get the loud or quiet version, depending on your preference.
Just make sure that G-Tech is secure wherever u placed it. I had one in my 3rd gen eclipse and it fell off the suction cups one day and it damn near fell apart when it hit my carpet. Other than duribility it seems to be pretty accurate.
