On 2g Eclipses we disconnect the switch that requires the clutch to be engaged at start up. This would reduce pressure on the crankshaft thrust bearings. What's good for one 4g63 is good for another, right?
I did this on my Evo, for peace of mind, with no problems as of yet. I just unplugged the switch and wire tied it out of the way. This is on a 04 RS and I assume it's similar for all models.
If you do this, you do this at your own risk. Remember;
DON'T HAVE YOUR CAR IN GEAR AT START UP! IT WILL JUMP FORWARD!
